Summary:

The Technical Sales Representative will manage and grow the fire protection & safety service based sales and other sales in their assigned territory or group. Their focus will be on developing new as well as servicing existing accounts. The Technical Sales Representative will primarily be involved in end-user fire alarm, fire sprinkler, fire extinguisher & suppression sales, with a smaller focus on end-user security and communications sales.

The Technical Sales Representative will develop and implement plans to capitalize on all sales opportunities for their territory or assigned group of accounts. The successful candidate will be required to achieve new order bookings and gross margin goals, and handle the most complex deals independently within Mircom’s established guidelines. They must collaborate with Operations, Finance, Legal and other inside/outside resources as required to achieve sales goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize sales techniques to sell products/services/solutions to customers and new end-users.
  • Assist established customers and prospective customers with problems involving the use of company products/services and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Drive/coordinate new business across all product lines.
  • Follow through on sold projects to ensure satisfactory completion.
  • Ensure a smooth sales-to-operations turnover and monitor progress.

 

Requirements and Skills: 

  • 3-5 years of service sales experience.
  • Fire protection and / or life safety service experience is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s license in good standing.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • NICET 2 certification in Fire Alarm will be required within 24 months of hire.
  • Self-motivator with proven organizational track record.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of PC based applications (Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel)
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) considered an asset.
