Key Responsibilities:

  • Review Area Daily for 5S compliance.
    • Address 5S variance – Problem Solve, Communicate and Take Action
    • Assist teams by communicating requirements to make the area look better
    • 5S - Audit operators, Support and maintain 5S in area
  • Metrics - Update daily, Communicate abnormalities to team and supervision, Lead daily communications of metrics to management
  • Andon - Respond to Andons immediately. Escalate as defined
  • Problem Visualization - Provide input into key problems and potential countermeasures, Review daily, Follow up on countermeasure activities
  • Material Controls - Confirm material conditions daily, Audit segregation procedures for non-conforming material, React appropriately to abnormalities. Maintain faxban boards and MRP locations daily
  • Production Status Controls - Continuously manage line to meet daily expectations, Monitor and support the bottleneck process closely, Update and maintain production status information
  • Understand the HSE hazards, risks and controls of the operations under their control. Monitor and coach/teach awareness and compliance to HSE controls.  Integrate HSE programs and performance into continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities.  Actively participate in the HSE behaviour programs for the organization
  • Must be able to rapidly solve problems and determine what level of problems will require the problem solving process to be documented utilizing the Root Cause analysis report. Also must drive the “Sense of Urgency” that is required to solve problems rapidly.  When problems occur, the leadership must respond in the time defined by the Problem Escalation Process
  • Maintain and approve all hours for the employee supervised
  • Monitor personnel, complete and close Manufacturing Orders ensuring deadlines are met
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices
  • Electrical Tests of PCB/Final boards subassemblies
  • Functional Tests of Fire Alarm Control Panel final assemblies
  • Troubleshooting and repairing defective PC boards to component level
  • Install test bed & operating firmware onto circuit boards using PC & Programming tools
  • Develop and document test and troubleshooting procedures for new PCB/Final assemblies and train new personnel
  • Supervise Technicians and non-technical personnel
  • Schedule & distribute work according to Production Control & MRP requirements
  • Complete and close Manufacturing Orders ensuring deadlines are met
  • Provide equipment, test jigs, and functional fixtures for ICT and Flying Probe Test machines, as needed
  • Record and analyze defects and provide KPI reports to Production Control and Management

 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • 3 years Post-secondary in electronics or equivalent credentials
  • 5 years or more practical experience in testing and repair of electronic assemblies
  • 2 or more years supervisory experience in an electronic assembly/test environment
  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • Ability to understand oral and written instruction and test procedures
  • Surface Mount soldering skills
  • Written and oral English communication skills
  • Proficiency with electronic diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency generators.
  • Familiarity with automated testing
  • Computer proficiency
