Summary:

Mircom’s TX3 family of products provide intercom, security, access control, and home automation capabilities for multi-tenant environments.  The front end software developer will leverage a myriad of Windows and Web technologies including C#, .Net, .Net Core, WCF, ASP.Net Core, Angular 6, HTML5, CSS, Javascript & SQL Server to develop software that helps manage our field hardware controllers, providing protection and control to buildings.  While working as a software developer on the client side of the solution, there will be opportunities to gain experience with embedded firmware development, hardware design, applications engineering, project management, and R&D lifecycle design in a fast paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop software that can manage system/site configuration i.e. loading firmware, job specific configuration data, site rules and correlations and real-time site audit, logging, and management
  • Work with the product design team to document and implement requirements for front-end layouts, style sheets, services and database
  • End to End systems verification testing
  • Configure, design and maintain existing application including bug fixes and feature enhancements
  • Prioritize work activities and meet delivery schedule
  • Code, build and test software
  • Attend weekly team meetings to ensure that project goals are met
  • Maintenance and enhancement of the configuration management tool, TX3 Configurator
  • Develop the ‘web enabled’ feature set to allow for online configuration and monitoring
  • On occasion you will be involved in customer support and/or presenting demos to internal teams and new customer prospects

Requirements and Skills: 

  • Degree in software engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or related field
  • Candidates with technical certification or diplomas in related programs with existing application portfolio for demonstration available will be considered
  • Experience with C#, .Net, .Net Core, SQL Server Database
  • Experience with GUI development using .NET framework 4.6 or above (Winform, WCF)
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS, Angular 6+, JavaScript, and ASP.NET Core
  • Experience with RESTful web service
  • Touch screen GUI programming experience an asset
  • Cloud, SAAS, web service programming experience as asset
  • Knowledge of source control such as git, svn, cvs
  • Knowledge of Communication and Security Systems i.e. Burglar/Intrusion, Access Control, Intercom, Emergency Management, Smart Home
  • Ability to interact with customers using good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create software requirements from customer’s needs
  • Experience working on a team, local and remote is a plus
  • Previous experience writing software from the beginning to end is a plus
