Summary:
The successful candidate will oversee Mircom’s service operations for the Maple Ridge location. The Service Manager will organize and manage all service activities and performance of the service team.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and manage technician installation schedules to ensure optimum work load efficiencies and timely equipment deliveries.
Mentor, train and develop skills with Technicians
Coordinate installation activities with General Contractors, Engineers and building officials to ensure all documentation and approvals are delivered.
Identify project changes leading to equipment and labor cost overruns.
Create an environment which achieves ultimate customer service, while meeting or exceeding branch targets.
Monitor direct labor hours, project costs, and work schedules.
Coordinate and assist with expediting material requests, replenishing truck stocks and requesting other necessary supplies for technicians.
Ensure vehicles are clean and in safe operating condition by conducting regular inspection.
Ensure all safety guidelines are followed and that the company is in compliance with all regulatory rules and regulations.
Requirements and Skills:
3-5 years of experience in the Fire and Life Safety industry.
Proven manager/supervisor experience in the Fire Alarm industry
Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) certification or ASTTBC (Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC) certification in fire alarm
University, College, or Technical Post-Secondary education.
Proficiency to review drawings, conduct field surveys, prepare all required information to perform complete installation activities.
Strong computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer/technician requirements
Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly.
Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driver's abstract
Strong verbal and written communications in the English language

Principales responsabilités :
Élaborer des stratégies et des procédures de test pour la vérification de la conception des panneaux de contrôle d'alarme incendie en réseau et des outils de configuration du système.
Élaborer la documentation des procédures de test et des plans de test de régression.
Effectuer des tests de caractéristiques, de fonctions, de stabilité et de régression des produits.
Concevoir, mettre en œuvre et gérer ses propres réseaux de tests en laboratoire.
Coordonner les activités de test avec le reste du groupe de test AQ ainsi qu'avec les développeurs de produits.
Aider à reproduire les problèmes des clients dans le laboratoire d'assurance qualité.
Fournir un retour d'information aux développeurs afin d'améliorer la convivialité des produits.
Exigences et compétences :
Au moins 2 ans d'expérience en tests d'assurance qualité. (ou expérience connexe)
Solide connaissance pratique des protocoles de réseaux câblés et sans fil
Connaissance approfondie de l'infrastructure informatique et de l'installation et du fonctionnement des équipements de réseau
Connaissance pratique des logiciels basés sur l'informatique en nuage

Quality Assurance Analyst

Summary:
The Mircom Group of Companies is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst for Fire, Communication, Automation and related smart building products. The successful candidate will be responsible for verification and stability testing of our products, and additionally will have to perform pre-certification testing for regulatory bodies such as U.L., U.L.C, FM, and CSFM.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop test strategies and procedures for design verification of networked fire alarm control panels and system configuration tools.
Develop documentation of test procedures and regression test plans.
Perform features, functions, stability, and regression testing of products.
Design, implement, and manage own lab test networks.
Coordinate testing activities with the rest of the QA test group as well as with the Product Developers.
Assist in reproducing customers’ issues in the QA lab.
Provide feedback to developers to improve the usability of the products.
Requirements and Skills:
Mininum 2+ years of QA test experience. (or related experience).
Strong working knowledge of wired and wireless networking protocols.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking equipment setup and operation.
Working knowledge of cloud based software.
Ability to use network protocol analyzers for troubleshooting and analysis of networking and communications issues.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivated and works well in a team environment.
Experience with JTAG, BDM, FPGA Programming and other debugging tools is an asset.
Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
Experience with Real Time Operating Systems.
Experience working with electronic circuitry, engineering lab test equipment.
Ability to read schematics and modify hardware is an asset.

Summary:
In this position, the successful candidate will play a central role in managing all aspects related to quality, encompassing both Quality Assurance and Quality Control Engineering.This role includes supporting and crafting various quality related documents, such as internal audit reports for ISO preparation. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for meticulously documenting, logging and reporting all non-conformances through effective communication channels to the relevant department section(s) and individual(s) in a prompt and organized manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Initiate, log, and report all instances (internal & external) of non-conformances and assign Corrective Action Reports to individual(s)/department(s) responsible.
Log and track CAR, track on hold activity and follow up on corrective actions from suppliers, internal and other quality issues.
Assist regulatory bodies (UL/ULC, FM, USCG etc.) on their site visit; review Manufacturing Adherence to Approved Procedures-Conformance (Monthly, Quarterly, Annually).
Develop and maintain Quality Systems Procedures (QSP) as required by ISO
Develop, maintain, and approve site quality documentation and records
Manage and control Entire (UL Lab, Production, Engineering, and others) Calibration process- measuring instruments
Lead internal and external audit readiness. (ISO 9001:2015)
Schedule/Plan Internal Audit, Conduct Audit, gather data/evidence, generate, and circulate summary and follow-up as required
Manage incoming sampling and process, and complience check of received goods such as Regulatory Agencies’ Labels, Painted Metal Parts, etc.
Conduct First Article inspection (FAI), checks for stamps and stickers and cross referencing against documents, BoMs by interpreting design standards, processes, and procedures
Assist in new Projects (BoM Comparison/changes and updates etc.)
Perform root cause analysis for all non-compliance parts and recommends improvements by following up on corrective action
Ensure product compliance with company standards.
Initiate Quality Control actions related ECR and AX-BoM modifications.
Develop and maintain various SharePoint databases
Requirements and Skills:
Internal Auditor Certification or Quality Control certification or Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma are considered an asset
College Diploma or higher in a related field (Quality, Mechanical or Electronic technician/technologist) or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of experience in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
Previous experience in the Electrical Manufacturing industry
Previous experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing practices.
Knowledge in Quality Management System – ISO 9001:2015/ TS 16949/QS 9000 or equivalent.
Strong problem solver.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical standards.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances, statistics, and measurement techniques.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Engage in the preparation of detailed Computer Aided Design (HydroCAD) drawings to assure the efficient and effective placement of our products and systems
Assure that designs are consistent with required specifications and building code.
Applies experience and simple judgment to make decisions within defined options or standard protocols – follows through on issues
Create HydroCAD drawings from sketches, verbal instructions and/or sample parts.
Examine drawings and other engineering documentation to verify completeness and accuracy of data
Assist the engineering department in the development, evaluation process, and improvement of manufacturing methods within the plant facility.
