General Machine Operator

(Afternoon shift 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM)

Responsibilites & Duties:

  • Provide general support in the metal shop.
  • Operate machinery such as brakes & presses, shears, etc.
  • Load required tooling into the machine.
  • Produce and verify product piece to the drawing specs and identify it as “first off”
  • Perform maintenance as per outlined requirements.
  • Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures.
  • Weld or bolt sections together.
  • Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines.
  • Stock shelves and move material need it to machine.
  • Unload metal when delivered and store it.
  • Prepare all metal items for painting.
  • Follow Supervisor/Team Lead instructions.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a metal shop environment.
  • Previous exposure to welding, punch press and brake press would be preferred.
  • Must be able to frequently lift 30lbs and up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Able to work in a noisy shop environment
  • Must have steel-toed safety boots
  • Able to read blueprints
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Counterbalance forklift certification need it, with minimum 6 months experience
