Summary:

The successful candidate will keep production running by acquiring goods and services needed to satisfy the manufacturing plan while keeping shortages and inventory (volume and cost) as low as possible. The Purchaser will expedite goods delivery when necessary and negotiate while maintaining a positive relationship with vendors. Further, the purchaser will qualify vendors and components, do Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and find new and alternative suppliers for existing and new components. Finally, the Purchaser will participate in Production meetings to capture and absolve questions related to material shortages , arrival times and Supply Chain related questions (including purchasing and planning).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire goods and services needed to satisfy the manufacturing plan while keeping shortages and inventory as low as possible.
  • Reduce part cost while improving quality and delivery times.
  • Expedite goods delivery when necessary.
  • Negotiate while maintaining a positive relationship with vendors.
  • Qualify vendors and components.
  • Do Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR).
  • Find new and alternative suppliers for existing and new components.

Requirements and Skills:

  • University, College, or Technical Post-Secondary education.
  • 1 to 3 years of purchasing goods experience.
  • Experience with AX or D365 systems is an asset.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers.
  • Superior analytical skills and ability to develop recommendations and strategic solutions from data/information.
  • Well organized and able to balance multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Need to have high sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing needs.
  • Fully bilingual in French and English.
