Summary: 

We are seeking a skilled Project Support Specialist to support sales teams, customers, and installers by providing system design solutions, technical guidance, and troubleshooting expertise. This role involves assisting with project execution by resolving field issues, and delivering both remote and onsite support for the installation, programming, and operation of Mircom systems. The ideal candidate will be proactive, customer-focused, and able to work extended hours when needed to ensure timely issue resolution. 

The Project Support Specialist will support the following states: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Wisconsin, Illinois, Mississippi, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. The successful candidate must reside within the indicated territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise on access control and/or fire products to sales, customers, consultants, and integrators.
  • Support sales teams with system design, configuration, and product recommendations.
  • Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions in various cities in the designated region.
  • Troubleshoot, simulate and resolve field issues in collaboration with customers and technical support.
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation, system schematics, and best practices.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, standards, and competitor offerings.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, training seminars, and customer meetings.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Trade School or College diploma or a relevant field; a technical background is required.
  • University Degree is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3+ years in technical/applications support, or a similar role within the communications and security sector. – or -- Minimum of 3+ years in a technical sales industry, preferably fire alarm or security sales.
  • Strong knowledge of networking principles and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Solid familiarity with fire, intercom, access control, audio systems, SIP/VoIP technologies, and cabling /wiring practices. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and training delivery.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to efficiently resolving issues.
  • Frequent travel to client sites is required for training or support.
  • Flexibility in hours may be necessary to accommodate client schedules.
  • Knowledge of CAD or system design software an asset.
  • Must reside and be able to drive in the US.
