Summary:

Reporting to the Network Supervisor, the Network Analyst role is responsible for the implementation and management of the Network/Server environment including design, configuration, monitoring, security and support. The Network/Server Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day network and server operations, support and maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the network infrastructure including switches, routers, hubs, cabling, and other components
  • Plan, design, analyze, and provide technical support for data and voice communications networks
  • Research and evaluate network/server technologies and recommend equipment purchases
  • Devise and develop appropriate network/server architecture to support system and functional requirements; maintain a 99.9% uptime ratio for network systems
  • Oversee network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation
  • Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions and intrusion detection systems
  • Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network and server performance and providing statistics and reports
  • Work closely with the IT Help Desk to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve network and server issues
  • Manage network issue escalations and work until a solution is obtained for the client, both internal and external
  • Provide Level 3 technical support to Internal clients.

 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Degree or diploma in IT/Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience with Active directory, Exchange, Windows, VMware and Terminal Server
  • Excellent understanding of network infrastructure and security planning and support (including Servers, Storage, switches and firewalls)
  • Ability to execute daily prioritization and delegation of support requests
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products, PC hardware, network, and telecom
  • Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP networks and VPN implementation and support
  • Excellent time and workload management skills
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Business process knowledge in Accounting and Manufacturing is a plus
  • Office 365 experience a plus
  • Occasional travel is required within North America
  • Exchange and Active directory experience an asset
